Smile Within 

The SMILE WITHIN FOUNDATION has been established with two primary purposes in mind.

First, to inform and influence dental professionals and eating disorder specialists about how dentistry is the key to not only diagnosis of bulimia nervosa and purging disorders but also plays a major role in the successful treatment of those eating disorder victims who have finally come to the realization that they can be whole again.

The Foundation will train both dentists and eating disorder treatment professionals in identifying the telltale signs of bulimia/purging disorders and in using non-judgmental methods and techniques to communicate with and treat ED victims successfully.

Secondly, the SMILE WITHIN FOUNDATION will offer scholarships to selected ED victims who cannot afford dental treatment yet demonstrate a willingness to complete their care.  These candidates should have successfully completed or virtually completed their prescribed course of treatment and therapy at a recognized and licensed ED treatment facility in the United States.

These Smile Therapy Scholarships can be applied for through your Eating Disorder licensed facility or through a licensed Eating Disorder professional.  Those professionals seeking Smile Therapy Scholarship awards for approved candidates can contact the Professional Liaison at the Smile Within Foundation.
