About the work
Both of my pieces incorporate the use of vibrant colours, which for me really lift my mood. In Calm Amongst the Chaos, the process of applying the paint and making marks with various tools is a really mindful experience in of itself. The dynamic background represents the busy nature of life with the butterfly, hummingbird and ladybirds being a reminder to us all to stop, pause and take notice of the world around us
The artist
Jenna Davies
Swansea-based artist and dentist whose creative practice centres on colour, curiosity and kindness. Qualified from Cardiff Dental School in 2007. She balances her week between clinical dentistry and conducting workshops, working with bold colours, layered textures and mixed materials. She also designs team-building workshops for dental professionals — relaxed environments where participants step away from clinical perfectionism and explore creativity together.
